Common questions.
Which chess websites does it work with?
chess.com and lichess.org. Chess Arrow reads the board by its colours, so keep the default green board on chess.com, or the brown or blue board on lichess. Send us a message if the site you play on isn't supported yet.
Can I use it in rated games against people?
Engine help in games against other people breaks the fair-play rules of chess.com, lichess.org and every other chess site. Their anti-cheat systems compare your moves with engine play across many games using advanced statistical models. You won't slip past them, and accounts caught this way are banned.
Is this a subscription?
No. You pay once and own the license. No monthly fee, no auto-renewal.
Which platforms are supported?
Windows 10 and 11. On macOS, some users run it inside Parallels or a virtual machine successfully.
Can I move it to another computer?
Your license runs on one computer at a time. To switch machines, deactivate the old one on the Activate page, then activate the new one. There is no limit on how often you move it.
My antivirus flagged the file. Is it safe?
Yes. Some antivirus tools flag it as a false positive because of the license-protection wrapper. Add Chess Arrow to your antivirus whitelist and it will run normally.
Is there a free trial?
Yes. Download Chess Arrow and every feature is free for 24 hours. The trial starts the first time you open the app, which needs an internet connection once. When it ends, buy a license and enter your key in the app to keep using it.
How do I install it?
Download ChessArrow-Setup.exe, run it and follow the steps. No admin rights needed. The first time you open Chess Arrow, start your free trial or enter your license key.
What if I run into a problem?
